yarn pron and ephemera

Standard

Okay, so busy last few days/weekish. I finished the edits on my REB stuff, tomorrow I will trek down to the uni and submit them, as well as get registered for the two grad classes I have yet to sign up for. But in the mean time I’m plodding away on this:

Pattern: Ishbel

yarn: Lime and Violet/Cables and Lace Lizard Toes in Montressor

I just started the lace portion, should be done and ready for the mail soon, it’s knitting up really pretty. I hope it works the way I want it too.

Now mom went on a long needed vacation to BC, while she was away I was housesitting part time (hence the stephen king movie marathon) and trying to keep my house in order as well. Slowly I’m starting to wonder if I shouldn’t be learning how to drive, it might save time, but still, I don’t want to drive nor do I have money for a car, the jury’s out on that thought for the time being.

So she came back with goodies for me which made me squee of course.

A sample colour pack of roving. Shades of narnia, 24 colors. It’s gorgeous soft and sqishy.

Two balls of Regia 4- Fach Nation color in the artistically named colorway 5399. I think it’s destined to be rainbow knee socks. This theory could change.

Two skeins of Malabrigo lace weight in Mariposa. I’m thinking this is going to end up as a stole, a beaded stole…. I’ll need beads but still, I can picture it as a gorgeous stole with shimmery green beads.

Peatrie seems to think that the yarn was a gift for her, she’s been sleeping on the bag since I took the yarn porn photos. Normally I might shoo her away but as she seems to have been wounded in a battle (four of her larger whiskers on the right side were bitten off) which has left her unable to get to her favorite perch I aquiesce to her. I mean really what is more pathetic than a cat missing half her whiskers (don’t answer that its rhetorical).

Also sunday saw dye day come and go. Much fun was had and a serious amount of fibre was dyed.

There sits my stuff drying on the rack. they turned out very vibrant. Everyone’s stuff was super cool, and it was great aside from the super heat. Still much fun was had by all and we dyed a good half of the white alpaca I got from Jude. Now if the drum carder would arrive I could get started carding up all my funtastic stuff.
