So this is the new year (aka It’s been a long December)

It’s near impossible to get the pattern to stand out in the colorway but I do adore these socks. Pattern: Devon from Sock Innovation by Cookie A. Yarn: Socks That Rock Lightweight in Hard Rock.

I also finished the esker scarf. It’s a cute little neck wrap, gotta soak it and block it yet. Unfortunatly cameras don’t do it much justice either.

Well 2010 saw a lot of action, some good some not so good. December saw much calamity at the end, christmas went shockingly well, then boxing day brought a break up, and the day after the mutant flu which has only today started lifting enough that i think I can venture out of the house. I slept through the new years going to bed as early as i did due to the flu, dehydration, and general ick.

2011 well it’s gonna be good. It has to be. I’ve got a thesis to write and defend. I want to learn quilting better, I’ve only really done small panel quilts, I want to branch out this year. Who knows? I sure don’t. But probably tonight or tomorrow I’ll have a new pair of socks, knitting, the one thing you can always count on.

p.s. Peatrie is starting to be better. She’s still got some issues and the weekly 24 hour glucose monitoring is starting to make her ears look even more pathetic than they already did. Still. It’s good to have her somewhat on the mend.

Happy New Year everyone.
